Unlike East coast and other parts of the World, silicon valley is toooooo much informal. Still preparation is required for any event.

In last two years (June'2009 thru Sept'2011), by organizing monthly mixers, quarterly working lunch at Cisco, and two family picnics, at least we have been able to mobilize and connect many IETians in North California. In last working lunch at Cisco, it was decided to organize the third picnic in mid-september, when families have returned from summer vacations, kids have settled in school, and long weekend of Labor day just passed.

Ruby Goel (1991) setup an e-vite for 18-Sept-2011. Harish Kandpal (EC-1994), Ruchi Gupta (EC-1996) and Nishank Trivedi (EE-1999) who volunteered not only to organize but also to plan the event. Working together and meeting over tea at Cisco they planned for activities, food, photography, and facebook activities. As said earlier, at silicon valley we have again kept it very informal so far.



Going forward, following the suggestions from volunteers, and IETians who have attended most of these event; we are considering next event to be little formal. Look forward for next events:
1. Formal dinner in Feb-2012,
2. Summer picnic Sept-2012
